Port Elizabeth - The
Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality has called for a media briefing by
Infrastructure and Engineering Portfolio Chairman, Andile Mfunda.
The
media briefing follows the unrest that were seen in Walmer yesterday, May 15,
related to illegal electricity disconnections that were done by the
municipality on the same day.
Today
at 8am a formal meetings was held between Councillors Mfunda, senior
Electricity and Energy officials and the leadership of Walmer Township where
were issues that led to the unrest were discussed and resolutions were
taken.
It
is for this reason that the municipality sees it fit to call our important
stakeholders, the media to update them about the developments.
